The Company

John Burr and George Nice founded Westcott Black Partners with the very simple goal of focusing on a specific part of the Financial Services ecosystem, namely how data and technology were shaping global capital markets . Although operating as one global firm, the Westcott Black team are purposely narrow and deep in focus and as a direct result, bring insights and expertise in our field.

Having run the Financial Services practices at some of the leading global executive  search firms , the 2008 GFC gave pause for thought. The movement towards technology and innovation within capital markets was clear and our commitment to this for 15 years, has led Westcott Black to now being trusted advisors to clients across the globe.

John Burr

John is Managing Partner of Westcott Black Partners. He began his career in institutional capital markets solutions sales at UBS in London and New York, before moving into executive search with a focus on front office structured product solutions and QIS working across the buy and sell side.

Post the GFC of 2008, he has focused on how technology has  been the catalyst and optimising innovation agent for growth within financial markets. In recent years , as data, analytics and AI have become the key factors for driving investment performance and business efficiencies, the majority of his time is spent advising clients on strategy in these areas and how best to execute this globally.
 
When not travelling for work, John does his best to juggle family life with 4 children, he shares a passion for all things musical with his wife , whilst attempting to retain his youth via boxing, running and the occasional round of golf.

George Nice

George is Managing Partner of Westcott Black Partners. He started his Executive Search career in Capital Markets, hiring front office professionals across the globe for the world’s leading Investment Banks and Asset Managers. 

Since 2007 his focus has been on data and technology, specifically partnering with firms who are shaping the future of financial services. He has partnered with the leading information services and financial market infrastructure enterprises across the globe and has advised preeminent Private Equity and Asset Managers on their data analytics and technology strategies. 
 
Aside from work George spends his time either coaching or watching his sons play any and every sport. He and his wife love to travel and enjoying different cultures and cuisines across the globe!
